ABOUT NICHOLAS!

Nicholas I. Wiggins is a cultural strategist, creative leader,

and nonprofit executive working at the intersection of arts,

Nicholas’s career is grounded in a deep commitment to community and institution-building. He spent six years at the NAACP, where he helped execute the NAACP Image Awards, Annual Convention, and national leadership convenings, while advising executive leadership and strengthening board engagement. His work across nonprofit and cultural spaces reflects a core belief: that storytelling, when paired with strategy and resources, can mobilize communities and sustain movements.

He is also the founder of NIW Design, where he advises leaders, organizations, and creatives on strategic visioning, fundraising engagement, and producing experiences that inspire action and deepen connection. An industry leader, Nicholas is the Immediate Past  Chairman of the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals (NCBMP) and a member of PCMA, MPI, and LGBTQ-MPA.

A former educator, Nicholas began his career teaching history and culture to young men in Newark, New Jersey—an experience that continues to inform his approach to leadership, audience engagement, and narrative responsibility.

Today, Nicholas is a sought-after voice on the role of the arts in advancing equity, the future of fundraising through culture and experience, and how institutions can authentically engage communities in meaningful and lasting ways. He serves as Vice Chair of the NAACP Image Awards Committee and as a Trustee of the NAACP Foundation, and remains actively engaged in organizations advancing civil rights, culture, and creative industries.

Through every facet of his work, Nicholas is driven by a singular mission: to ensure that storytelling is not only seen and heard, but felt, funded, and sustained as a force for change.
